Kristoffer Rouse, PhD, LMHC, ASDCS, CCTP-II

Evolvcare Counseling

Dr. Kristoffer Rouse is a Licensed Psychotherapist (Licensed Mental Health Counselor/LMHC) and Hypnotherapist in Washington State. His clinical interests include working with children, adolescents, and young adults who are neurodiverse and often feel misunderstood. He has experience and finds enjoyment in working with ADHD, behavioral disorders, Autism Spectrum, anger management, anxiety, depression, video game addiction, and the unique challenges young adults face when transitioning into adulthood.

Many describe Dr. Rouse as “the real deal nerd,” as he is well-versed in all things Marvel, DC, anime, Pokemon, Minecraft, and many other fandoms. He enjoys incorporating video games and nerd references into his therapeutic work to help bridge the gap between inner worlds. This approach often opens up dialogue and lowers defenses to provide a collaborative space for open and honest reflection. Working within a client’s framework is an essential part of building a strong therapeutic alliance.

Dr. Rouse strives to help his clients work towards their full potential by providing tools and alternative viewpoints to support them on that journey. His therapeutic approach is eclectic, science-based, and intuitive. Recognizing that everyone’s needs are different, he tailors his approach to meeting each client’s individual goals. His focus is on helping clients achieve their “maximum effort” and potential by fostering long-term change through behavioral modification and cognitive restructuring.

In addition, Dr. Rouse provides Hypnotherapy, EMDR, and Virtual Reality Therapy.

Hypnotherapy offers a unique way to bypass cognitive defenses and gain traction in re-wiring unhelpful thought patterns while working toward healing. Through hypnotherapy, clients have found success in alleviating distress, improving self-esteem and confidence, and overcoming psychological and emotional trauma. Hypnotherapy can be helpful in treating anxiety, phobias, trauma, depression, and building healthy habits. (For more information on hypnotherapy, please visit: https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/mental-health-hypnotherapy).

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps process and heal trauma by using guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation. This method allows the brain to reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact and symptoms like anxiety or PTSD. EMDR is a proven, effective approach backed by major psychological organizations.

Virtual Reality (VR) Therapy is an innovative treatment that uses immersive virtual environments to help individuals manage anxiety, phobias, PTSD, and other mental health challenges. By placing clients in realistic, controlled scenarios, VR therapy allows them to confront fears, practice coping skills, and build confidence in a safe and guided way. This technology-driven approach enhances traditional therapy, making treatment more engaging, effective, and tailored to each person’s needs. Whether a client is looking to overcome social anxiety, process trauma, or develop relaxation techniques, VR therapy offers a powerful, research-backed tool for personal growth and healing.

Outside of his professional practice, Dr. Rouse enjoys spending time with his kids and loved ones. He finds fulfillment in deep conversations about quantum physics, spirituality, comic books, and research studies. Additionally, trained in martial arts and psychometry, he is a dedicated yearly Comic-Con attendee. His friends describe him as calming, innovative, and akin to the Batman of their group.
