Kristin Olson, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from the George Washington University, with a focus on working with children. She has over 13 years of experience working with children of all ages (birth through adolescence) and their families. With regards to testing, her areas of specialization include providing comprehensive psychological evaluations for individuals between the ages of 2 to 25 years of age. Her areas of expertise include the evaluation of children/adolescents suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, learning disabilities, AD/HD, and emotional/psychiatric disorders. Dr. Olson also specializes in the evaluation and diagnosis of young children (two years or older) suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental delays.
Dr. Olson also enjoys providing therapy. She specializes in working with toddlers and teenagers, although she enjoys working with children of all ages and their caregivers. Her areas of expertise include trauma, acting-out behaviors (e.g., tantrums, defiance, aggression), strengthening attachment, adjusting to stressors, and adoption. She also works with children struggling with depression, self-esteem, anxiety, divorce, and social skills. Dr. Olson believes in collaborating with the child's caregivers and others involved in the child's life in order to maximize the effectiveness of treatment. She believes in using a strengths-based approach and working with each family and child to determine the unique treatment plan that best suits them.
